"Gettin' Ur Christian Swag On"

What’s Up Ladies! I’m sure you probably looked at the title of this book and said to yourself: “What is this all about?”  Well, to answer your question the purpose of this book is to help you gain a better understanding of not only who you are in Christ, but to also help you understand how you should be carrying yourselves as young ladies in Christ. 

As a young person it can be challenging to figure out what God is saying to you through his word, which is why I feel that it’s important to present the gospel in a way that people are able to relate to and understand.  God wants us to be able to relate to him and to what he is saying to us through his word.  My primary goal in writing this book is to present the message of Jesus Christ in a way that connects God’s word with the way you talk and interact with people on a regular basis.  In all of this the most important thing to remember is that the message of Christ will always be the same, even though the way we talk about it may change: "Jesus Christ is the Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever" Hebrews 13:8. 

The truth is that we have spent so much time trying to imitate the swagger that we find in the streets, that we neglect the Christian swagger that is naturally ours through Jesus Christ.  Street swagger relies on who an individual is in and of themselves, and focuses on what they have been able to accomplish on their own.  On the other hand, Christian swagger is not born out of who we are in and of ourselves, but instead it is based on who we are in Jesus Christ.

Ultimately swagger and Christianity can work together hand in hand.  Swagger is the outward representation of confidence, and Christianity is the outward representation of our salvation and our commitment to Christ.  Therefore, Christian Swagger is the confident, outward display and representation of our salvation and commitment to Jesus Christ.  The reason that we can walk with spiritual confidence is because of our salvation through Jesus Christ.  We have been called out and chosen by God, and because of that we can hold our heads high and get our Christian Swag on. 

Our swagger in Christ should be evident in how we present ourselves to the world, in how we walk, how we talk, how we act, the way we dress, our attitude, and our mentality.   We have been called and equipped by God to do his will.  We have a message of salvation to share with a dying world, and because of who we are in Jesus Christ, we have every reason to walk out our salvation with boldness, confidence, and conviction.  So hold your head high young lady and get your Christian swag on in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
