Message of Inspiration

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

Inside every broken woman is a little girl whose dreams, hopes, and promise of a bright future were shattered as the result of some traumatic experience.  We all have varying degrees of brokenness in our lives; the only difference is that we act out our brokenness in different ways. In our state of brokenness we often make poor decisions and act in ways that we think will help numb the pain that threatens to overwhelm us.  Some resort to engaging in promiscuous sex, and drug abuse, while others strive for external perfection while seeking to hide internal imperfections.  Others hide behind a mask of religion, basing their existence on obeying the do’s and don’ts of the bible, all the while neglecting to nurture a deeply personal and intimate relationship with God.

None of these activities address the real issues, yet we continue engaging in unhealthy behaviors so that we can try to cope and make it through our days.  Before you know it days turn into months and months turn into years, and the powerful women of God that we are called to be gets buried under all of the mess, but TODAY is a new day.  It is the first day of the rest of your life, and the time has come to relinquish the mess and trade it for a new beginning in Jesus Christ.  Take your life back now; because the longer you allow the enemy to keep you bound the more difficult it becomes to accept God's love and healing.  You need to know that in spite of how far you may have drifted or what you may have done, TODAY you can choose God's love, forgiveness, salvation, and his plan for your life.  TODAY you can decide to trade your brokenness for God's healing and wholeness.

We are a broken generation of women and we have given to much control of our lives to the enemy.  When we choose to stay in a place of brokenness we are making the decision to merely exist.  The promise of peace and hope that is ours as believers in Jesus Christ will always be just beyond our reach, and in some instances we are only one step away from destruction.  We force ourselves to function in the midst of chaos and confusion without God’s peace, and we struggle through life in a state of depression and hopelessness.  This level of existence is not what God had in mind for our lives.  God wants us to have an abundant, fulfilling, and purposeful life, and NOW is the time to declare war against the enemy and take back what is rightfully ours.  God is waiting to heal your broken heart, mind, spirit, and body.  He invites you to come to him and be made whole.  Decide TODAY to accept what God is freely offering you.  Decide TODAY to accept God's healing.

Once you make the decision to accept God's healing the healing process can begin.  This process is a challenging one because once the decision is made to release your brokenness to God, you must also release all of the feelings of unforgiveness, bitterness, and anger: “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.  Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:31-32 NIV.  I know for many women it may feel like it is impossible to experience the wholeness that is found in God, and impossible to forgive, but God lets us know that he is our perfect strength when we don’t feel that we are strong enough: “But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” 2 Corinthians 12:9a NIV.  We are not in this alone; God is with us every step of the way.  All we need to do is trust God, open our hearts, and be a willing vessel allowing God to work in us and through us.

Ladies, our negative experiences don't have to define who we are, and we can't afford to continue to give our past the power to limit what we can accomplish as anointed women of God.  We need to understand that the hurt, anger, bitterness, fear, hatred, and disappointment that we hold onto, only works to drive us further away from the very One that we need in order to be made whole. If we want to operate within God’s will for our lives we must seek him with our whole heart and realize that we can’t handle our brokenness on our own.  We must release our spirit of brokenness to God and allow the precious Holy Spirit to comfort us and breathe new life into us and our situations.

God wants us to live divinely purposeful lives, where we know what we have been created for, walk boldly in our purpose, and tap into the potential that is still unrealized within us.  When we position ourselves to walk in our purpose we can find our true place within the body of believers. We are on this Christian journey together so let us encourage each other to stay on the path that God has set for us: "Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you.  Mark out a straight path for your feet, then stick to the path and stay safe.  Don't get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil" Proverbs 4:25-27 NLT.

Ladies, let us begin to walk worthy of the calling that God has placed upon our lives.  Let us trade our brokenness for God’s wholeness, our hopelessness for his hope, our religious traditions for an intimate and personal relationship with God, our substandard existence for divinely purposeful living, and our efforts for his excellence: "I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection!  But I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me to be.  No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus is calling us up to heaven" Philippians 3:12-14 NLT.  Accept God’s healing, keep your focus on Jesus Christ, and step into divinely purposeful living.

Be Blessed,

Erica Lynn
